At Fastwork, we always strive to protect both clients and freelancers. That’s why all transactions through Fastwork are safer—we act as a trusted intermediary in the payment process 💳✨
🔹 When Can a Project Be Canceled?
Cancellation can only be made when the order status is “In Progress.”
After that, the Fastwork team will review the reasons from both parties before making a decision.
🔹 What Do We Consider When Reviewing Cancellations?
Freelancer’s quotation → project details, promised deliverables, specific requirements, and additional fees.
Chat on the Fastwork platform → all communication within the platform serves as the main reference.
Project progress → we check how much work has been completed and the quality of the results delivered.
🔹 Cancellation Reasons from Clients
Freelancer unresponsive → if the freelancer goes missing or misses the deadline, the client can request a full refund.
Freelancer cannot continue → the client is entitled to a full refund. (Freelancers who frequently cancel may find it harder to get projects in the future.)
Work not matching the quotation → it’s best to try negotiating a revision first. If no solution is found, report it to us.
Unsatisfactory work quality → request revisions first; if still unresolved, escalate to Fastwork.
Client changes mind → the Fastwork team will review the project’s progress and reason for cancellation.
🔹 Cancellation Reasons from Freelancers
Client unresponsive → if the client cannot be contacted until the deadline approaches, the freelancer may report it.
Change in brief/scope → if the client adds new requirements after payment, negotiate revisions/additional fees. If no agreement is reached, escalate.
Freelancer cannot continue → same process as above, subject to team review.
🔹 Key Considerations
The final work will be compared against the freelancer’s portfolio and the written project details.
The Fastwork team may request additional evidence (chats, documents, drafts).
If one party fails to respond with evidence, the decision will be made based on available information.
🔹 Rights to Final Work (Copyright)
If the client receives a full refund, they are not allowed to use the work. Copyright remains with the freelancer.
If the freelancer has been paid (full or partial), copyright is automatically transferred to the client.
🔹 Final Note
The decision on fund distribution made by Fastwork is final.
